Being located in the mountains of southwestern Virginia at
the western end of the Great Valley of Virginia, our dealers are uniquely able
to find unusual primitives and hand made furniture of the 19th century. In
this rural area, fancy English and imported French furniture is very rare but we
have a fine assortment of craftsman made local furniture from good native oak
and pine as well as rough cut primitives from local log cabins. Often we will
have a buttermilk paint corner cabinet or rough sawn pie safe. We usually
have a selection of round and square accessory tables, some candle tables,
bakers cabinets with enameled tops, or a Hoosier cabinet imported from "up
north". A selection of blanket chests, including German & Penn
Dutch brides chests, china cabinets, massive claw foot dining tables and old
pump organs (still in good tune) usually are available to choose from. We
feature picture frames & old framed mirrors, a nice selection of art deco
chandeliers, retro chrome dining sets and early twentieth century floor lamps as
well as Victorian sofas, fainting couches, oak hat box dressers, mahogany
shaving and American Walnut wash stands with marble tops - and once in a while a
cedar chest or a secretary. As for chairs, we usually have straight back
and pressed back, woven seats and slats and old rockers. Once in a while, we
will have a Stickley desk, other mission pieces and very rarely we will
have a Wythe pie safe. The assortment changes daily so be sure to stop in
anytime you are in the area. We offer good old country furniture at
good'ole country prices.
We have a new dealer in our mall from South Africa with a fine
collection of African Art Objects. All hand carved from wood and stone,
these beautiful figures with their clean, smooth lines will add that finishing
touch your home or to the decorators handiwork.
